Restofine & Glass Bead Shotblasting

Soda Blasting with ARMEX® Blast Media

Why ARMEX?

ARMEX is a formulated sodium bicarbonate line of abrasives specifically engineered for a variety of surface preparation applications using either air or water driven equipment. It is applied against a surface using comparatively low air pressure and / or water but high velocity. Unlike harder abrasives the crystals shatter upon impact transferring the energy into a powerful stripping action, removing coatings and contaminants without damage or distortion to the surface material. As well as Soda being a non destructive way to clean it is also environmentally friendly ,bio degradable, non toxic and non hazardous, which greatly minimizes waste handling concerns.

What is Soda Blasting used for?

Soda blasting can be used on most surfaces including metal, wood, rubber, fibre glass and polypropylene. It’s is used in all types of industries including where refurbishment / restoration is required. Soda is a soft pelletized product it does not etch or damage the surface of the item being blasted.

Restofine Blasting

Restofine is a fine media which is applied against a surface using compressed air.

What is Restofine Blasting Used for?

Restofine is commonly used as a cost effective alternative to Soda Blasting, and can be used for the removal of many substances. It is used in many industries, and is well known in the automotive industry for the removal of paint and rust. When an area is blasted with Restofine it leaves you with a ‘etch or keyed’ surfaced which is ideal for priming.

Bead Blasting

Glass Bead blasting is the process of removing surface deposits by bead, applying fine glass beads at a high pressure without damaging the Blasted pump assembly surface. The glass bead media is made up of recycled crushed glass.

What is Bead Blasting Used for?

Glass Bead Blasting can be used specifically on stainless steel, but also on other metals, glass, plastic and rubber. Once applied to a surface it will leave it with a smooth, bright and satin finish without affecting the shape. The finer the media is the smoother the finish, larger media will give you a more textured finish. Bead blasting is less aggressive than other standard types of Blasting.
